About SemesterGrade

SemesterGrade is a small, free set of calculators for the two questions students ask at the end of every term: "What do I need on my final?" and "What is my GPA?"

The tools exist because those questions deserve exact answers, not vibes. Type in your numbers and you get a number back — with the formula printed under it, the edge cases handled honestly (a target can be already safe, or genuinely impossible, and the tool says so), and a methodology page that shows every scale and equation we use so you can check our maths against your syllabus.

How it works

Everything runs in your browser. There are no accounts, no uploads and no database of student grades — what you type never leaves your device, and closing the tab erases it. That design is deliberate: grade data is personal, and a calculator does not need to keep it to do its job. The downloadable spreadsheet templates work the same way, offline, in Excel or Google Sheets.

What SemesterGrade is not

It is not affiliated with any school, district, university or exam board, and it is not an official record of anything. Grade scales and weighting policies are set by your school, they vary, and your syllabus and transcript are always the authority. We also do not do homework, write essays, or promise grades — the tools calculate; the studying is still yours.

Accuracy is the whole product. If a scale, a formula or an example on this site looks wrong for your school, we want to know — reach us through the contact page.
